A strength of Jiva's is that everything is in one place. That makes it very easy to see a picture of a member's experience throughout the entire system. That really helps when we are driving care because everything is integrated into one platform. The ability to bring in and export configurable data from Jiva has been very supportive. We typically put data in a data warehouse and then utilize it from our interoperability standpoint. However, we have some significant plans in the future to move forward with the CMS interoperability rules with Jiva.

We use Jiva for any care management and utilization management functions. We do all our documentation and have all our calls documented in there along with all our care management functions, any outreach, and anything that faces outward. That includes anything where we are calling members or taking in appeals, grievances, and prior authorizations. I really love that Jiva is very configurable. ZeOmega's strength is configurability. Jiva can morph into whatever we need it to be. Jiva has a lot of things out of the box, but then users can take Jiva and customize it using tools based on their organization's goals. For instance, we have some very specific care management functions that we must perform. I can configure pretty much everything to get what I need out of Jiva with the older version we are on. With the newer version, we are looking forward to getting more configurability, more connections to EMRs, and more background- and BI-reporting functions instead of standard raw-data-reporting functions. We have no issues with ZeOmega.

Jiva's integration with certain other products is absolutely phenomenal in terms of streamlining things and emailing information out to members. That is a really easy, quick, and efficient way to get member information to members. Also, we have the Jiva platform fully integrated into our ecosystem. It is integrated with our claims system, so there is eligibility. So Jiva is integrated significantly into our systems through data and through how it is feeding and processing claims. We haven't found any limitations. We have been able to integrate Jiva with anything that we have tried.

We are very satisfied with Jiva’s security program and management of security risk. They host us, and we don't have any concerns about it. We also have a lot of interoperability between our claims system and our member management system. We pass data back and forth constantly. We collect some data in Jiva that is used for processes in other systems, so ZeOmega definitely supports our interoperability. We are definitely very satisfied with it.

Jiva does a great job. Anything they can do to put power in the hands of the customers is always appreciated, and that is something they have done well historically. We can do reporting out of the system, and we can build our own automation. That is incredibly appreciated. We have automated several processes, and we need specific cases to be reviewed by nurses, but we can and have automated those decisions. We also automated a letter attachment, so if a nurse goes in and approves an authorization, we automate the processing by creating the letter and dropping it to the member's authorization, and from there we can send it to a print vendor. We automatically attach assessments to people based on their conditions so the nurse doesn't have to manually enter things. There is a lot that we can do with Jiva. We are automating our staff's workflow as much as possible. There is no doubt in my mind that we have a lot of success and outcomes based on this product. There is not anything wrong with the platform as it stands now, and ZeOmega has some things coming in the future that should be exciting for us.

We have really taken advantage of the fact that Jiva offers us a lot of ability to determine our own content and manage that work effort, including all the configuration assessment tools, templates, note templates, and drop-down values. That ability allows us to stay up-to-date as quickly as possible with changing business requirements and needs. We have different levels of case management, and the system helps us to support those regardless of whether there is a case manager or a care coordinator for both clinical and nonclinical things.

ZeOmega provides API capability and a backend HIE for data integration. They also offer other toolsets, like an interoperability toolset that allows their systems to integrate with other interoperable systems. Between the vendor's different solutions, we are able to integrate with pretty much anything or consume any data. The thing that I like specifically about ZeOmega's platform is that Jiva is an enterprise-wide medical management platform that has been able to deliver functionality that allows us to maintain regulatory requirements in a timely fashion. We are expanding our platform with additional modules. The partnership and integration capability are all things that I like. The vendor has kicked off a user group, so I'm really excited about that. They have a conference, and I'm excited about that. They are enhancing their technical infrastructure to align with new technology, so those are all things that I like.

Jiva is simple. Our team caught on really fast. We hired a group of people to work on the product, and we were able to easily train them within a few weeks. I like the ease of the system. The ease of use makes it so much better to train people. The outcome we need is the authorization decision and the letter, but it is simple and easy enough to click on the button and generate the letter.

The first word that comes to mind when we talk about our partnership with ZeOmega is growth. Where we were years ago in terms of our customers and the size of our company is dramatically different from where we are today. We have had an absolute ton of growth. The beginning of the partnership was a little bumpy because ZeOmega was an up-and-coming company and because we were setting up our infrastructure and getting to the point where we were stable. But once we got through that, we picked up the pace from a partnership standpoint. ZeOmega has grown with us, and one of the things that has kept that partnership strong is ZeOmega's availability from a support standpoint, whether that is production or business support or support when we are trying to acquire new businesses and add new functionality and workflows. The vendor is always available and at the table. So our partnership has been strong from the get-go, and we have seen ZeOmega grow as a competitor in the industry. ZeOmega’s support is good. They are super responsive. They meet with us, react to our needs, are knowledgeable, and listen. They are great people to work with. The representatives do a great job of understanding what kind of situation we have. We create situations that the vendor has not seen before, so there is a great deal of partnership and support in isolating and resolving issues. I even talked to an executive, and they were fantastic. The vendor's people are all fantastic. I can name multiple people. They are on the calls, being responsive, and following up on action items. I feel comfortable reaching out to any of the vendor's people. At this point, I don't necessarily need to reach out because our project manager on the upgrade is doing a great job, but we do meet with them recurringly, and a leader attends that meeting, so I feel really supported, and I don't feel a lot of politics from ZeOmega.

We did look at the decision more from the perspective of our long-term growth strategy, and we felt Jiva offered the best opportunity for us to build on the Jiva platform as a backbone to building other things. We decided to move forward with the care management module for certain lines of business as well. We are using the appeals module, and we will be looking at other potential modules as we look to expand business for certain patient members, some of whom had some very specific requirements that ZeOmega has already met for our state. That is a state Medicaid problem for certain individuals. It was part of our future growth strategy to have a nimble, state-of-the-art technological platform from which to build things for our medical management, utilization management, care management, quality, and other needs. I think we made the right choice in doing that.

Previously, we were using multiple utilization management platforms for various products and lines of business. We consolidated those into a singular platform for utilization management through an RFP process. ZeOmega was part of that contingent as well as other industry leaders, and we worked together with a consultant to help identify and prepare an RFP that was undertaken. Through that process, we went through a rigorous scoring, interviewing, and reference-checking process to identify our finalists, from whom we ultimately recommended and selected a candidate. We chose ZeOmega for their utilization management platform. The goals there were to reduce the technological redundancy of platforms and the support and maintenance of those platforms and to improve operational efficiencies within our utilization management team. We had different teams working on different platforms, and that really hindered our ability to flex staff and support each other more in real time across products.

The goal was to get a state-of-the-art system that could help grow with us as we grew our membership and our plans and strategy for our insurance but that could also reduce the administrative burden of managing multiple platforms and improve the operational efficiency of moving from multiple platforms to a singular platform. Jiva is a great product. We are helping to integrate it with functionality with our claims and administration platform, and the integration seems to be working. There are a lot of products out in the industry, and we have a lot of salespeople calling me because they want me to switch, and we say no because we have a great product. I don't know who the ZeOmega service people are personally, but we have a great product in Jiva. Long term, we have made a significant financial commitment, and we have built the product up. It is working, so we are not going anywhere. We would recommend Jiva. We are also helping others who are moving onto ZeOmega’s platform. Also, ZeOmega is a little better at relationships and servicing with us and working with us than another vendor.

Jiva works with other products in terms of integration. ZeOmega definitely supports our connection with our claims system. So, we are able to pay claims based on our authorization decisions. We also utilize Jiva as a member portal so that we can have our members see information about themselves. And we utilize the provider portal so that we can have providers send us authorizations without having to call us or fax us.

The biggest advantage of this software is that it allows us to customize things to meet our workflow without having to go to the vendor. What is super nice about the solution is that all of the parts for care management, appeals, and utilization management are all on the same database and the same platform. For example, if we are doing a utilization management review on a member, we may have denied a service because it is not coming in as medically necessary. If the member has an appeal against that, we can see everything that has happened with that member from case management to utilization management.

We get great support from ZeOmega. The people that we work with on a daily basis are able to solve our problems. We get training whenever we need it and ask for it.
